Kestrel started because two studio owners were tired of choosing between a CRM that felt like enterprise software and a pile of notes that felt like chaos. So they built the calm middle.

The idea
Small teams win on attention. You know your clients by name, you answer your own email, and the quality of the work is the marketing. What you do not have is an operations department.
Kestrel is designed to protect that advantage. It handles the remembering, the follow-ups, and the status updates so you can spend your best hours on the work only you can do.
See plans
Kestrel is a real Mac app. It opens instantly, works offline, and uses the shortcuts, menus, and gestures you already know. No browser tab pretending to be software.
On iPhone and iPad, the same workspace travels with you, with full records, not a read-only companion.
Most tools stop at the contact record. Kestrel follows the work: the first inquiry becomes a deal, the deal becomes a project, and the project keeps the same client history.
Nothing is copied between apps. Nothing gets lost in the handoff.
The details that make a relationship feel personal are usually the first things a busy week drops. Kestrel keeps them close: who referred them, what they care about, and when you last spoke.
You look thoughtful because you are prepared.
Support is included on every plan and handled by the team who builds Kestrel. No tier-one script, no upsell, no ticket that disappears for a week.
Email us and you will usually hear back the same business day.
Kestrel is priced and designed for teams of one to twenty. There is no implementation partner, no six-week rollout, and no enterprise feature you will never use.
Start with the work you have today. Grow when the work does.
Our story
Maya Chen and Theo Alvarez met running a six-person design studio in Portland. Their client work was good; their systems were held together with three apps and a shared calendar. Every new tool promised to fix it and added another place to update.
So they built the tool they wanted: one record per client, one pipeline, one project view, and an app that felt like it belonged on a Mac. The first version was used by their own studio for a year before anyone else saw it.
Today Kestrel is a small independent team in Portland, funded by customers rather than investors. We still use it every day, and we still answer the support email ourselves.
Why teams switch
The teams who get the most from Kestrel are not looking for more software. They are looking for fewer places to look.
